About Free Twitter Layout

Free Twitter Layout makes free artwork sized for X (formerly Twitter) profiles: headers at 1500 x 500 pixels and profile pictures at 400 x 400. The site is run by a small team, and everything you see is written and drawn by the Free Twitter Layout Team.

What's here

• A header maker that runs in your browser. Pick a style, type your words, and download a header and a matching avatar. Nothing you type or upload leaves your device.
• A gallery of original header designs, each with its own page and free downloads.
• Guides on changing your header, designing one that survives mobile cropping, and finding images you're allowed to use.

How the designs are made

Every design in the gallery is generated from code we wrote for this site: gradients, patterns and simple illustrated scenes, drawn at full size. No stock photos, no traced artwork and no third-party fonts are baked into the images. That's why we can let you use them freely.

Using our designs

You may use any header and avatar from this site on your own X profiles, personal or business, and you may edit them, crop them and add text or a logo. Credit is welcome but not required.

Please don't sell the designs, include them in paid or free download packs, or upload them to other wallpaper, template or stock sites. If you'd like to use them in some other way, ask us.

Headers you make in the header maker are yours. We never see them.

The history of this domain

freetwitterlayout.net was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. The current site has no connection to earlier owners of the domain, and none of the old content was reused. A couple of design names from the early Twitter-background days, like Rustic Faded and Winter Dark Blue, live on as brand-new artwork at their old addresses.
